Meet Our CEO Alex Z. Wiggins

AZW Strategies was founded by former public transit CEO Alex Z. Wiggins. With decades of experience in transportation and public safety, Alex brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the firm. His areas of expertise include executive leadership, professional development, project management, safety and oversight, community engagement, emergency management, public safety, crisis communications, and building transportation infrastructure.

Throughout his career, Alex worked on several notable projects, including:

• Re-imagining law enforcement operations at Los Angeles Metro by developing and implementing a multi-agency and multi-layered police, security, and emergency management strategy.
• Leading the development of a comprehensive action plan to address the unhoused population’s reliance on public transit for basic shelter.
• Transforming the New Orleans Regional Transit Authority by sourcing transit operations, restoring maritime operations, introducing change management strategies, and investing in staff professional development.
• Team-level participation in the constriction of Sound Transit’s Link Light Rail Initial Segment and the Denver Eagle P3 Commuter Rail Project.
• As a Transit CEO, Alex successfully oversaw the construction of major capital projects and technology advancement initiatives.
